Medicare has severl enrollment periods with each one can be used to enroll in either Original Medicare (Medicare Part A and Part B) or to enroll in different plans of Med

Enroll in Medicare Parts A & B if you delayed it due to employers coverage
Part D Initial Enrollment Period (IEP)
Enroll in MAPD and MA only if you have Parts A and B. Only need Part A or Part B if enrolling in PDP
Delayed Initial Enrollment into MA or MAPD (not PDP) Initial Enrollment Period (IEP)
Enroll in MAPD after your 3-1-3 initial enrollment into Medicare
MA Only Initial Coverage Election Period (ICEP)
Enroll in Medicare Advantage (MA) only plan when turning 65. Must have Parts A & B
MA Only Initial Coverage Election Period (ICEP) for People Under 65 with Disability
Enroll in Medicare Advantage (MA) only if you are under 65
Delayed Initial Enrollment into MA or MAPD (not PDP) Initial Coverage Election Period (ICEP)
Enroll in MA Only after your 3-1-3 initial enrollment into Medicare
Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)
Switch plans from/to Medicare Advantage (MAPD and MA only) or back to Original Medicare + PDP plan
Medicare Parts A and/or B General Election Period (GEP)
Enroll in Part A and/or Part B after you missed to enroll during your IEP
Medicare Parts C or D General Election Period (GEP)
Enroll in Medicare Advantage (MAPD and MA only) and PDP du to GEP
Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (MA OEP)
Switch between MAPD and MA only plans. Drop MAPD or MA, go back to Original Medicare and enroll into a PDP plan
Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (MA OEP) for those enrolled in Medicare Advantage during ICEP
Enroll in Medicare Advantage (MA only) if you enrolled into Original Medicare during your ICEP
Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment Period (MS OEP)
Enroll in Medicare Supplement during the first 6 months from Part B start date with no underwriting
Institutionalized Individual Special Needs Plan (I-SNP) Open Enrollment Period (OEP)
Enroll in I-SNP plan when entering or leaving a qualified health institution
Chronic Condition Special Needs Plan (C-SNP) Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Enroll in C-SNP plan when becoming diagnosed with specific health condition
Losing Chronic Condition Status Change Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Disenroll from C-SNP and enroll into Medicare Advantage (MAPD or MA only) plan
Medicaid or Low-Income-Subsidy Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Change Medicare Advantage, D-SNP,  or PDP plans once every quarter and once during AEP
Change in Medicaid or Low-Income-Subsidy (LIS) Status Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Change Medicare Advantage, D-SNP, or PDP plans
5-Star Plan Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Enroll in a 5-Star Medicare Advantage (MAPD or MA only) or PDP plan if they available in your service area
Medicare Advantage Trial-Right when turning 65 Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Disenroll from MAPD and enroll in a PDP
Dropped Medigap to join Medicare Advantage Plan Trial-Right Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Drop Medicare Advantage and go back your original Medicare Supplement and PDP plans. Valid for 1 year from the effective date of the Medicare Advantage plan
Joining State Pharmaceutical Assistance Program (SPAP) Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Enroll in specific Medicare Advantage (MAPD only) or go back to Medicare and add PDP plan
Losing Eligibility for State Pharmaceutical Assistance Program (SPAP) Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Enroll in Medicare Advantage (MAPD only) or go back to Medicare and add PDP plan
Involuntary Loss of Part D Creditable Coverage Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Enroll in MAPD or Part D
Loss of MAPD due to Loss of Part B Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Enroll in MAPD, MA, and PDP after you instate your Medicare Part B
Change in Residence Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Change between MAPD, MA only, or PDP. Or go back to Medicare and add PDP plan due to change in residence
Change in Residence - Incarcerated Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Change between MAPD, MA only, or PDP. Or go back to Medicare and add PDP plan due to entering or leaving incarceration
Non-U.S. Citizens who become Lawfully Present Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Enroll in MAPD, MA Only, or PDP after you have returned back to live in the USA
Outside Plan's Service Area over 6 months Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Change between MAPD, MA only, or PDP. Or go back to Medicare and add PDP plan due to spending more than 6 months out of service area
Non-Renewing Plan Special Enrollment Period (SEP)

Change between MAPD, MA only, or PDP. Or go back to Medicare and add PDP plan due to plan non-renewal
Termination of Plan by Carrier Special Enrollment Period (SEP)

Change between MAPD, MA only, or PDP. Or go back to Medicare and add PDP plan due to plan being terminated by carrier
Termination of Plan by CMS Special Enrollment Period (SEP)

Change between MAPD, MA only, or PDP. Or go back to Medicare and add PDP plan due to plan being terminated by CMS
